When I was on vacation recently, I saw a sign that stated “No Check In Required.” That caused me to stop and think about my journey of Faith as a Christian and the journey of other believers in Jesus Christ. Is that how we view our relationship with Jesus Christ, “No Check In Required”? And, what does God want from us?
In that instant I was reminded that God does want us to “check in”. In fact, “Check In Required” is God’s expectation of His children. In Revelations 3, the Lord tells the church in Laodicea that they are lukewarm. They are neither hot nor cold and He will spit them out of His mouth. I believe the Lord is telling us in this passage of scripture that we need to “check in” with Him regularly. A failure to check in can cause us to become lukewarm, to become indifferent to God and His influence on our lives. So today, I want to encourage you to “check in” with God by taking time to talk with Him (pray), spend a few minutes reading your Bible, serving your local church and connecting with fellow Christians. Remember, “Check In Required.”
